Canadian author Dave Pollard says he’s been working on a post-peak-oil novel, set in the year 2200, for over five years.  His thoughts on what that world might be like are interesting.  He doesn’t think we’ll go back to the Wild West:

“…instead we’ll go forward to a world that combines ancient indigenous wisdom with today’s and tomorrow’s (to the extent they can be tweaked to be sustainable) innovations — gliders, hot-air balloons, grafting of plants, straw-bale construction, human- and solar-powered looms, cameras, recordings, and other creative, artistic and scientific devices.”

Now he’s not sure a book is the right medium, so he’s considering making a wordless movie instead, and creating it during a kind of gigantic Open Space event!  You can read the whole post here.
