Join Rob Porter, veterinarian and poultry specialist at the University of Minnesota Diagnostic Lab, for a workshop on managing disease in outdoor poultry production systems. Dr. Porter will discuss the basic anatomy of chickens and turkeys, common diseases of poultry, and prevention and treatment of disease. Participants will observe the dissection of a chicken and turkey to understand the disease symptoms and ways to treat. This event is co-sponsored by Just Food Co-op, the Cannon River Chapter of the Sustainable Farming Association, and the University of Minnesota Extension Small Farms Team.
