Richard Heinberg in Northfield Nov. 12
Transition Northfield is hosting award-winning author and speaker Richard Heinberg for a talk in Northfield on the evening of Friday, November 12th about how our community can plan together for a changing world in view of the economy, the need for energy independence, and climate change. See the “Heinberg Talk” page for details as they develop.
Martha, we did have Richard’s talk recorded on video and we plan to make that available. We’ll write a post on this web site when it’s ready. We’ll make notes from the Saturday discussion available here too, and we’ll also continue that discussion at the next discussion (and potluck) on Dec. 5 at 4 pm at the Just Food Community Room.
K8, Transition Northfield is part of the international Transition Town network, which encourages communities to become more resilient — able to respond to difficult situations — by improving their local economy, food sources, and skills. Click on the “Links” tab at the top of our web site for links to more information.
I was not able to make the talk on Friday night, but wondered if you have a video recording of the talk. Will there be minutes from the follow-up Saturday morning discussion?
Many thanks,
Martha
What is the goal of Transition Cities, as this is the first I have heard of them. Is the goal to become communities, irrespectful of personal lifestyles or beliefs? Thank you for your reply.
