Join us for Earth Day Fun- Workshops-Community Service Projects- a Free Soup Supper and Potluck
Friday April 19: 7 – 10:30 pm Earth Day Contra Dance
Saturday April 20:
9:15 am – 3 pm Tree Planting: Due to the pending snow we are postponing the tree planting at River Bend Nature Center until May 4 from 10-3.
12:00 – 2:30 pm (first session) and 2:45 – 5:15 pm (second session) Workshops and Community Service: For workshop details (descriptions, times, locations) and registration, see the Earth Day Workshops page.
4:00 – 5:00 pm Organics Recycling for Northfield at the Weitz Center. Join the conversation and bring your questions and insights to this forum. Hosted by Environmental Studies students at Carleton. Come learn about curbside organic composting and what it could look like in Northfield.
5:30 pm Bring the whole family to a free delicious soup supper and potluck at the Weitz Center (320 3rd St. E.)
6:15 pm Keynote talk: “The Politics of Consumption and the Pursuit of Solidarity: the New Climate Justice Agenda” by Dave Snyder from MN 350, as well as local sustainability updates. At the Weitz Center (320 3rd St. E.) There will be childcare provided during the presentation with earth-friendly games and activities.
7:15 – 8:00 pm Local musical performances
8:00 pm Evening Movie “Bidder 70”: sponsored by St Olaf SustainAbilities. At St Olaf’s Viking Theater – Free
